Numerous multi-billion dollar industries are suffering fatalities from hazardous environments because they do not have the tools for remote inspection. Mining alone is at least a $14 billion dollar industry that endures the highest workforce fatality rate. This is only one of the many industries that suffer from lack of remote reconnaissance tools to minimize hazardous material and environment exposure.

American Standard Robotics, Inc. (ASR) has found an innovative solution to solve this market need – robotic systems for safe remote inspection. The product line satisfies the customers’ diverse financial constraints by providing equipment ranging from basic inexpensive platforms to high end robotic systems.

ASR is the most qualified company to fill this market. Our staff has spent hundreds of hours in field work with scientists, fire-rescue, and military personnel to identify the potential and limitations of this technology. Our founders’ most powerful field experience came through their use of inadequate robotics technology during the September 11, 2001 World Trade Center and the August 2005 Hurricane Katrins rescue efforts. In the last two years, ASR has also successfully partnered with some of the world’s best sensor and robot manufacturers.

Not only is ASR the most qualified, but also the best positioned to fill this market. ASR was recently featured on CNN, MSNBC, The Saint Petersburg Times, the Discovery Science Channel, Advanced Rescue Technology Magazine, and acknowledged by Time Magazine. ASR staff members maintain close relationships with target markets through serving as technical search specialists for Florida Regional Task Force 3. Also, ASR retains representation and involvement in statewide organizations engaged in homeland security.

The timing is right for ASR to address this market need. Security and homeland defense operations are the top national priorities in the wake of the September 11 attacks. Defense and homeland security research and development budgets are continually on the rise. For the 2005FY budget, defense funding is up 7.1% to $4.7 billion and homeland security investments are increased 19.3% to $1.8 billion. Robot technology is becoming more and more prevalent as a means to assist in these dangerous jobs.
